Senior Software Engineer

SinglePlatform helps local businesses get discovered. 97% of consumers now use online media when researching products or services in their local area. Only a small percentage of sites have up-to-date information for the local business and most do not have any rich content such as menus, photos, videos, specials or news. Through SinglePlatform, local businesses can now publish their storefront online and influence their customer at the most crucial moment – when consumers are researching products or services. Engineers at SinglePlatform collaborate with other disciplines on product development from conception through implementation. Our platform is built using Python, Django, Tornado, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB, hosted in the cloud. That said, we believe in using the right tool for the job.

What we need you to do
  • Build and maintain scalable, re-usable software for SinglePlatform’s applicationsl and API
  • Collaborate on well-thought-out software designs
  • Benchmark and optimize the performance of new and existing application
  • Participate in departmental code reviews and discussions
  • Keep current on emerging and relevant technologies
You are experienced with
  • Python with Django, Tornado or a similar framework
  • OOP and software design patterns
  • SQL and query tuning
  • JavaScript and jQuery
  • Git or, Mercurial
  • Linux or other *NIX
  • AWS or other cloud providers
  • Creating and consuming web-services and APIs
Bonus Points for
  • Comp Sci or related degree
  • MongoDB, Cassandra or other NoSQL db
  • Mobile web/native app development
  • Tornado, Node.js or other event-driven programming frameworks
  • Lucene, Solr, or other search platforms
  • Startup experience

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Identifying and call local businesses to drive new client acquisition.
  • Managing the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to meeting and closing.
  • Performing market research; top performers will help test new products and services.
  • Acting a key player and contributor to the direction of this growing sales team.
  • Crushing sales targets on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

About You:
  • You are a recent grad who wants to get into sales - no sales experience required!!!
  • You are coachable, flexible and self-motivated. You can hit the ground running, and your drive to succeed is off the charts!
  • You've always thought that sales is something you would be good at and wanted to try. In this position you will be selling all day, every day.
  • You are an excellent communicator with professional phone skills.
  • You are an achiever: if you participated in competitive sports, the Greek system, or school government, we want to hear from you.
  • Enthusiasm is your middle name; you're the type of person that gets excited about anything and everything that interests you.
  • Thinking on your feet isn't just something you're good at, it's something you love. When faced with new challenges, failure simply isn't an option.

Compensation:

$40k with on target earnings of $52-58k (uncapped!) plus full benefits - Health, Vision, Dental and participation in company 401k.
